Search boxes send the name, phone number, or address entered to the third-party provider that returns sponsored results. Our servers do not retain a separate copy of those queries. When someone contacts us, we receive the details included in that message and use them to answer.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting systems create routine logs that may contain an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps diagnose faults and show which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
How the Data Is Used
These limited data support site operation, troubleshooting, audience measurement, and content improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create personal profiles of individual users.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Marin County and California portals, court and records offices, library collections, and outside search providers. Each destination controls the data submitted there under its own privacy terms. Sponsored search results are also supplied by a separate company, not by Marin County People Search.

Hosting and support vendors process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process compels it. We do not otherwise distribute visitor information.
Data Security and Retention
An encrypted connection serves the site, and logs are kept only as long as their stated purposes require. Because users do not create accounts here, this site stores no user password or account profile.

The California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 through 1798.199.100, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may give California consumers rights to know, correct, delete, or opt out regarding data held by a covered business. Because we retain little, a request generally means checking our contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to submit one. Government records held by Marin County, a city, a court, or the State of California remain outside our control; correction or removal requests for them must go to the responsible custodian.
